Christina Hall grew up in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Southwest Virginia. She was fortunate to have been raised in a family that appreciated music. She grew up listening to the harmony of her father and other musical talents jam in her basement till early hours of the morning. Her love of music and dance and her gift of rhythm were no surprise. She began flat footing at the local Hillsville VFW during the Saturday night dances at age 5. She later took up ballet, tap, and jazz dance classes but quickly realized they just did not fit her style. So in 1989 Christina’s mother introduced her to clogging for the first time by enrolling her in the local beginning clogging class taught by Faye Warren at the YMCA in Galax, VA. Christina will be forever grateful to her mother for enrolling her in this class. On the same dance floor where she had learned the "first position" in ballet at age 5, she was now learning her first "double step" at age 11 and immediately knew that clogging was the dance form for her.

While growing up in and around Galax Virginia, "The World’s Capitol of Old Time Music" and the home of "The World’s Largest Old Time Fiddlers Convention", Christina had the opportunity to learn from many of Appalachia’s best old timer’s. She danced to the live old time and bluegrass music every weekend at the local square dances, fiddlers conventions, and music jams around her home town. Christina is very fortunate to have grown up in the Galax, VA area because she learned first hand where some of the roots of clogging came from. With this base knowledge and "appreciation" of her music and dance heritage, she has stormed into the clogging world and soaked up all the knowledge she could by attending conventions, competitions, festivals, and any other place where she could find a good fiddle player and some hard wood floor.  Christina believes in keeping the tradition of clogging alive by holding our dance roots close to her heart, while keeping an open mind to new and modern styles of clogging. Christina believes in individuality and that each dancer should be proud of "their" own style of dancing. Her priority is to pass these traditions down to the next generation and to educate our youth of where clogging came from and encourage them to be themselves.

Christina has had the privilege to share the stage with such Country Music artists as Johnny Cash, June Carter-Cash, John Cowan, Dan Taminski, and Rodney Dillard. Her credentials continue to include being the lead choreographer for a regional Hardees Commercial, performing such places as on stage at The Grand Ole Opry, Dollywood, United States Capitol-Washington D.C., World's Largest and Oldest Fiddlers Convention, International Dance Festival "FolkMoot", Virginia State Capitol Building, Carter Fold, as well as a tremendous amount of charity and local events along the east coast. Christina has directed her own teams throughout the years such as the Silver Spur Cloggers, Christina’s Sweethearts, and the Radford University Clogging Team. She has had the pleasure of  performing with such teams as the High Mountain Steppers, Countryland Express, East Country Hoedowners, the American Heritage Dancers, Hoorah Cloggers, Ultimate Sound, and the Rhythm-n-Motion Dance Team from Cookeville, TN.

Some of Christina's influences and idols include Brent Herron,  Anna Wells, Kevin Bourgoine, Jeff Hill, Jeff Parrott, Jeff Driggs, Monika White and Scotty Blitz.   She also admires faces from the big screen such as Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Janet Jackson, Donald O'Conner, Michael Jackson, and Debbie Reynolds. Last but definitely not least, her biggest and most important role models have been her mother and father.

With the never-ending support from parents and family, Christina has had a positive influence and has been an advocate for the dance profession for many years. She is the founder and president of the Radford University Clogging Club. She founded the clogging team in 1998, and started the Radford University Clogging Event in 1999. Her event includes an all day workshop, afternoon competition, and evening showcase. Instructors that have participated in her workshop include such talents as Jeff Parrot, Josh King, Anna Breeding-Wells, Jeff Hill, Monika & Patrick Priddy, and Joel Harrison. Christina’s event is at its TENTH YEAR and still growing bringing over 200 participants to learn and grow with each other through clogging fellowship and fun.

Christina is honored to be a member of the ’04, ’05, and ’06 ACHF World Champion Clogging Team Rhythm-n-Motion from Cookeville, TN. Upon Christina’s time living in Nashville, she was fortunate enough to be able to join the Rhythm-n-Motion dance team directed by Brent and Amanda Herron. She actively participates with the team and travels with them to performances and competitions along the East Coast.

Christina graduated from Radford University as Most Outstanding Student with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Development in 2001. She recently got married (check out the link above) and "Happily" resides in Charlotte N.C.!
